Welcome, all, to the first official post of the Painted Browser! As the name suggests, we’ll be looking at a lot of ‘paint’… and photographs, and digital art, and illustration, and design, and everything else art-related that exists on the infinite canvas of the internet. To start us off, I wanted to share several of my favorite sources of visual inspiration that you can find floating around on the web – take a look, and start practicing your ‘sponge’ mode to soak up all the visual awesomeness that we’ll be exploring. So here we are, my top 5 current visual obsessions…
1. Javier Perez’s Instagram Creations
Think Instagram is a world simply meant for selfies and social life-documentation? Think again. Javier Perez uses instagram to share creative and witty illustrations made from everyday objects. Take a look at his insta-creations here.
2. Moodboards by Breanna Rose
Artfully curated collages of brand identities, ideas and inspiration, and mood, these boards by Breanna Rose are sure to inspire. The perfect remedy to any ‘artist’s block’ and a beautiful gallery to simply scroll through.
3. Underwater Photography by Ilse Moore
This beautiful project captures a different perspective in ethereal underwater images. Dreamy hues and elegant figures create what seems like an imaginary world – wander through this gallery to get a glimpse.
4. Select:Photography – Pinterest Board by Beth Kirby
If you’re looking for mood-reflecting, dream-like inspiration, head over to this Pinterest board and feast your eyes on the photographic collection Beth Kirby has curated. Beautiful, ethereal images fill this collection with a signature mood to be enjoyed alongside a cup of hot tea/coffee and a comfy chair.
5. Viscosity
An interactive visual playground, Viscosity is a simple online interface that puts a brush in your hand and an endless visual pattern that will have your eyes glued to the screen for surprising lengths of time. Addictive, creative, and unique, this tool is a great bookmark for when your brain needs a small dose of addictive visuals.
